Infrastructure
For students who would like to study at an engineering college with an established reputation for high quality teaching and research, Chennai Institute of Technology has a lot to offer. CIT is situated in Kundrathur, a temple town located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. An attractive and compact campus, excellent student accommodation, close proximity of the city, make CIT an ideal and conducive environment for learning.
A few of our facilities include:
Laboratories: At CIT, students are given the best equipments for practical sessions, which are conducted in the finest labs. Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Workshop Lab, Computer Lab, Communication lab (For Fluency in English), Electrical & Electronics Lab, Manufacturing and Technology lab (Mech Engg), Electrical Circuit Lab, Electron Devices Lab, Strength of Materials Lab, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery Lab, CAD Lab, Survey Lab are some of the lab facilities offered to the students.
Library: CIT stocks over 7000 books and study materials for the students' benefit. Apart from books, periodicals, journals etc, an Air Conditioned Digital library with multimedia material is also available for the students.
Clubs: CIT provide various social and leisure activity options to their students, and thus making the learning process more enjoyable. For this purpose, Young Entrepreneurs Club, Public Speaking Club and Creative Club have been set up.
Canteen: Well balanced and nutritious meals are provided for the students round the clock. There are separate dining halls for girls and boys.
Hostel: CIT aim to provide all students with high quality, hygienic and safe accommodation to meet individual needs. Separate hostels for boys and girls are available and at present, we can accommodate 500 students. All rooms are furnished with bed, cupboard etc.
Transport: CIT has an established bus system which is well connected to most parts of Chennai City and its neighborhood towns.

During the four years of course period, all students will attend in-plant training and internships in their respective industries. This will give the students an insight into professional industrial world and will enable them to sharpen their hard and soft skills.
Our placements service is staffed by highly qualified professionals who have the expertise to help you make the right choices for your career development. They will be able to support students with their application skills including writing CVs and application forms. Assistance will also be given during interviews.
