Madurai: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has revised the eligibility criteria for admission to B. Ed. (2011) course.

According to a press release from M. Shanmugham, Regional Director, IGNOU, the revision follows a notification issued by the National Council for Teacher Education. As per the revised criteria, in-service teachers with a degree from a recognised university and minimum two years of teaching experience in a recognised school are eligible to apply irrespective of the percentage of marks obtained in the degree examinations.

Earlier, it was restricted to those with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. The last date for submission of filled-in applications at the Regional Centre is August 24. The entrance test is scheduled for September 26.
