Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.350/- (General); Rs.100/- (Special Category) and SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of cost of application and Prospectus, they can obtain the application on written requisition duly enclosing attested xerox copy of the Community Certificate.

By Post: Rs.350/- (General); Rs.100/- (Special Category - Physically Handicapped / Children of Ex-Servicemen) and SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of cost of application and Prospectus - duly enclosing the postal stamp to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty only) for ordinary post along with the DD.

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
Demand Draft in favour of "The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600 010" payable at Chennai from any Nationalised bank. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:
  • In Person: Application forms can be obtained with a written requisition to the Dean of Government Medical Colleges duly enclosing a crossed Demand Draft.

  • By Post: Applications can also be obtained by addressing the Dean of Government Medical Colleges, duly enclosing the postal stamp to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty only) for ordinary post along with the required Demand Draft (Rs.350/- or Rs.100/- as the case may be). The SC/ST candidates need not enclose Demand draft.

  • Through Website: Application forms can be downloaded from www.tnhealth.org and send the application along with the crossed Demand Draft. (Rs.350/- or Rs.100/- as the case may be). SC/ST candidates need not enclose Demand Draft.
Eligbility: The candidate should be a citizen of India and a Native of Tamil Nadu only.

Age Limit: The candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st Decemeber 2008.

Qualification:
Candidates should have passed H.Sc. (Academic) Examination conducted by the State Board or any other equivalent examination in the FIRST APPEARANCE, with the following group of subjects with the minimum eligibility marks:
i) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or)
ii) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject

Minimum Marks for Paramedical Course:
B.Pharm: All categories other than SC/ST: Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology in both Theory and Practical. A minimum of 35% marks and with aggregate marks not less than 50% in the above subjects is mandatory. For SC/ST: Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology in both Theory and Practical with A minimum of 35% marks and with aggregate marks not less than 40% in the above subjects.

B.Sc. (Nursing), B.P.T, B.O.T: All categories: Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology in both Theory and Practical. A minimum of 35% marks in each of the above subjects is mandatory. A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories.

D.Pharm candidates seeking admission under Lateral Entry Scheme:
a)Candidates belonging to all communities should have an aggregate of 50% of marks in Part I (First Year) and Part II (Second Year) in D.Pharm Examinations with a pass in HSC with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with a pass in two year D.Pharm course.
b) The candidates who have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course should submit the provisional certificate for having passed the Diploma Examination and should have completed 500/750 hours of practical training at the the time of applying for the B.Pharm Course. The Diploma candiates will be admitted into Second Year B.Pharm course directly under Lateral Entry Scheme.
c) Candidates of Tamil Nadu origin who have studied in Diploma in Pharmacy in other State have to produce Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai - 32.

The completed application forms should reach "The Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, Periyar E.V.R High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600 010" on or before 30.07.2008, by 05:00 PM.

Note: Candidates who have passed HSC Course in Vocational Stream are not eligible to apply. Common Application Form for B.Pharm, B.Sc. (Nursing), B.P.T, B.O.T courses. Application form for B.Pharm courses (Lateral Entry for D.Pharm passed candidated only). Candidates applying under Special Category shold fill up the Common Application Form prescribed for General Category and the application form prescribed for Special Category.
